As was announced during the Moment for Mission on the May 24th worship service, the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is extremely pleased to offer the name of The Rev. Diane White in candidacy for our permanent Pastor leadership position. The PNC has carefully evaluated dozens of potential candidates in a meticulous process that began last November and feels strongly that Pastor White has the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to move our church forward.
In accordance with state travel and meeting guidelines, the PNC is moving forward with plans to host Pastor White for a site visit from June 12th-14th. Pastor White's biography and statement of faith are attached to this issue of the CPC Express and on the CPC website. We hope that all CPC worshipers will take time to review her information.
Pastor White will be preaching for the June 14th recorded service which will be posted on Saturday afternoon, June 13th. Because current COVID restrictions prevent us from having a traditional face-to-face meeting with her, Pastor White will conclude the recorded service with a question and answer session hosted by Pastor Bob. CPC members and attenders are encouraged to submit questions for Pastor White to the church office by email or phone prior to June 9th. While we may not be able to fit all of the individual questions into the Q&A period, the PNC will group as many questions as possible into categories that address key areas of interest.
Pastor White will also be preaching at both drive-in services on the morning of June 14th. Following each service, we will be arranging a drive-by (stay in your car) greeting line for Pastor White with appropriate social distancing. By the end of the second drive-in service, all members will have the opportunity to vote on Pastor White's candidacy for our permanent pastor position. In the coming week (beginning June 1st), each congregational member (please remember, affiliate members are not voting members) will be contacted by a designated liaison from the PNC to discuss the actual voting process.
The PNC is excited about this possible new chapter in the life of our church. We hope that all of our members and attenders will take advantage of the above opportunities to get to know Pastor White.
